This collection of 15 collages is a visual autobiographical narrative of my life. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, my family moved frequently around the midwest United States. We lived in some 30 different houses together. I attended 6 different public schools and was homeschooled for a bit. As a young adult, I joined the United States Air Force and served both in the US and overseas. After 10 years of military service as a Persian-Farsi Linguist and as a military instructor of various subjects, I continued to move around the globe and the United States. So far, a great portion of my life has been defined by movement. I have lived through innumerable changes in space and time in a body and with a mind that adapts and changes with every fluctuation.
These collages were constructed intentionally with special attention paid to materiality in order to convey an authentic narrative. The primary purpose of these pieces is to allow myself to remember and review parts of my history visually as both the subject and author/artist. The secondary purpose is to share my stories with others. It is my intention to communicate in love to the greatest common denominator.
